Gosh Neal,
I just came across this comment from my older sister (by 9 yrs). A few years back she wrote a biographical paperback about our family titled First They Worked". It's basically the (seldom-told "Grapes of Wrath" ...ish) story of a post WWII migrant workers family...a young couple who in the 50s and the 60s went from 1 to 10 kids and how they/we grew up working in the fruit orchards of Northern California. Though it isn't a rags-to-riches story, it is a story deeply rooted in "the Law of the Farm". Maybe someday we might discuss it further. -:)
